Snooker corruption is so open
and blatant in UK
Snooker professionals are an
unusually form of “Anemology” made of greed foolishness self satisfaction and a
strong sprinkling of “Kidology” to lesser members.
The corruption originated
when snooker coaching became commercially viable and became financially greater
than the actual pro’ game especially to the lesser paid players.
The first copyright book on “Coaching”
snooker was written by Mr Joe Davis who died in 19-78 and the copyright status passed
to Mrs June Davis (Widow) who died twenty years later.
The Joe Davis copyright was
completely ignored by W-S the BBC and the Tobacco sponsor’s in the 19-80s
though Widow June Davis was still alive and well.
This Corrupt period is the beginning
of “Snooker Corruption” and made easier by the silence of Chief Coach Terry Griffith and Clive Everton of
Snooker Scene (The voice of Snooker) plus the past copyright holders can’t
complain now as Joe and June Davis are both dead.
Sadly Snooker cannot apply

is the real culprit, it covers a multiple of faults that should and could be
easily explained if there wasn’t that acceptable
reason or excuse; he/she/they are off
form.
What makes good form
and poor form is two separate subjects, and should be analysed separately,
overcoming poor form does not create ability
The Tennis
player may be playing one shot ahead of himself by moving in anticipation of
the opponents return shot or assuming that the last shot played won’t be
returned.
The golfer may stop
his swing as soon as club and ball has made contact, but carries on the swing
without realising the golf swing was incomplete and cannot be joined-up as one.
The snooker player
plays two shots, pot and position, but moves to play the second shot
before the first shot is completed.
The footballer when
left with an open goal-mouth shoots the ball over the bar as he turns away for
his “cuddles and kisses”.

above faults have one thing in common; they are all caused by the feeling of
self satisfaction of a job well done and deserves a “The Victory Roll” The player switches off before the shot is
complete.

self satisfied feeling of accomplishment; except of course if playing a final and

Timing is possible the most important facet in coaching a
sport whether it is in Tennis, Golf, Football or Snooker. Sportsmen always talk
of loss of form but never can pin-point the reasons for the loss or slump in
form.
There is always a reason in every
sport for a shot missed, but not always explained clearly with words and
detail.
Fine Art teaching is not only to introduce something new to sports
but to detail the probable reasons for fluctuations in form particularly the
dreaded unexpected miss in snooker the three foot put in Golf or the open goal
misses in football
The word Form is the real culprit, it covers
a multiple of faults that should and could be easily explained if there wasn’t
that acceptable reason or excuse;
he/she/they are off form.
What makes good form and poor form is two different
subjects, and should be analysed separately as overcoming poor form does not
create ability
The Tennis player may be playing one shot ahead of himself
by moving in anticipation of the opponents return shot or assuming that the
last shot played won’t be returned.
The golfer may stop his swing as soon as club and ball has
made contact, but carries on the swing without realising the golf swing was
incomplete and cannot be joined again as one.
The snooker player plays two shots, pot and position, but
moves to play the second shot before the first shot is completed.
The footballer when left with an open goal-mouth shoots the
ball over the bar as he turns away for his “cuddles and kisses” is only one
reason for the miss.
All the above faults have one thing in common; they are all
caused by the feeling of self satisfaction of a job well done and worthy of approval.
The foot ball player’s “missed sitter” is deserving of more

of course if playing a final and winning a trophy there is sometimes cuddles

The Victory Roll
is often the cause for failure as it is a humane trait and all contestants are
guilty of this anomaly in sport, therefore the fault is often evened out.
The coach that can eliminate the victory roll concept is half
way to perfecting (in words) the art of teaching with full
understanding as well as merely coaching sport.

Pro snooker should be self regulated and a 4% of all coaching “Profits” annually from each registered coach in this country alone would give the same returns as the “Jolly old Tobacco people did for 25 years.

“Shootouts” often fail after much team practice and are equally unsuccessful without

without seeking the detail and analysing the “Mechanics of the balls” and the observation
of the ball’s movement on and after “Boot” contact made by the player.
The game is swamped by
“Tactics” that go astray if one player doesn't conform to discipline. The one
positive in every game is chances missed that would have won games.
Soccer is not an exact
science but the “Science of Movement” can be annualised in great detail in each
“Penalty” player’s approach and effort to put the ball in the net.
Each player’s personal approach
and movement varies so much that the complete movement (Penalty Kick) must be
regimented or “Strictly controlled” without compromise. The penalty kick detail
can also be used in practicing out-play.
The strike that sent the ball
into the far corner of the net was a fluke if it can’t be repeated often. The
only clue to the wonderful shots accuracy is the exact (last) contact on the balls
surface.

Snooker Students are an unusual form of anomoly Colin and if Steve Davis said that century breaks are much easier after “Egg and Chips” it would be accepted as a Tip on Coaching and a boost to the poultry trade.
Snooker students should be taught with the words to explain each shot in detail and they will coach themselves with suggestion correction and much encouragement.
Coaching Snooker Pool and all Cue Sports worldwide are in there infancy and require the exact same line in dialogue for teaching.
Terry’s Silly pause on the back swing has done great harm to the pro game as there are no instructions on how long the pause is in time; “Seconds” or how long the pause is in length “Inches”.
