Dear Steve Davis

Your brazen attempt on BBC TV to show viewers how to strike the cue ball correctly was pathetic and wrong in snooker technique.

Your “Thrust” through the ball is infringing copyright and a blatant attempt to defy the exclusive rights of the “Fine Art” method

About striking the cue ball Steve! You merely showed some “Successful” faults in your cue action and strike pattern.

The main fault without explanation is how to keep the snooker cue straight from the obtuse angle of the back swing.

The pendulum stroke Steve is really a motion of two equals but your cue action is either going up or coming down but never ever level.

The reason that “Go through the ball” “Drive through the ball” “Spear the Ball” was introduced was simply because Balls don’t roll so required a different cue action as opposed to the old “Don’t forget to follow through”.

On a level surface balls always skid and spin also, if addressed off centre until the thrust force by the cue tip is exhausted.
